Here is a history list of what's changed recently in TS/PP-Draft 6.0:

6.0.0.46 (2006.1.21)

Fixed a bug in printing multiple diagrams while showing the vertical scale explicitly on the printout. The vertical scale would display in the correct location only on the first sheet, not on any of the subsequent sheets.

6.0.0.45 (2005.10.26)

Fixed a (very rare) error that could occur in exporting UTDF files. An extraneous external node could be inserted into the Layout file.

Fixed a possible divide-by-zero error in analyzing trip logs for a Travel Time & Delay report.

After the Intersection Parameters are edited, check to see whether the envelope of geographic coordinates (the effective width of the intersection, or the radius of tolerance) encompasses a neighboring intersection. Warn if it does.

6.0.0.44 (2005.8.10)

Before exporting UTDF files, warn about any unlinked intersections with common IDs. This can indicate either an incorrect ID for one intersection, or that the intersections should be linked as a common intersection but aren't. Fixed an infinite loop that could occur in exporting UTDF files for certain network layouts."

Fixed a bug that in some cases could worry unnecessarily about splits for movements prohibited on a one-way street.

6.0.0.43 (2005.7.29)

Fixed a bug causing the software in some circumstances to incorrectly report that a split is less than the clearance time."

6.0.0.42 (2005.7.14)

Fixed an error introduced with ver. 6.0.0.41. With some GPS receivers, the status would get stuck on "Searching for Fix."

6.0.0.41 (2005.7.10)

Fixed a bug in the Timings Report. In some cases, the band width didn't appear on the report.

6.0.0.40 (2005.4.17)

Fixed a bug that could occur in displaying the two rings at a one-way intersection (with a 0 through split). In some cases, the ped crossing times didn't align between the two rings.

6.0.0.39 (2005.4.6)

Fixed a bug in the Intersection Parameters dialog causing it to think you'd changed the band action when you hadn't.

Fixed a bug that could occur when toggling to a time-location diagram. The multi-page mode was inaccessible even if there were more intersections than can fit within the diagram's width.

Fixed an Access Violation that could occur in dragging the timings bar when there were zero splits on the sidestreet.

6.0.0.38 (2005.3.18)

Ensured that the windows showing downloaded GPS waypoints doesn't get sized too small to see the waypoints list.

Fixed a quirk that caused some of the default colors to get initialized incorrectly.

6.0.0.37 (2005.3.4)

Fixed an access violation error that could occur when creating Plots from Trip Logs (e.g., speed vs. distance plots).

6.0.0.36 (2005.2.15)

Fixed an error in the Travel Time and Delay Report: the CBS1T (Cumulative Time spent Below Speed #n since beginning of Run) and the CAS1T (Cumulative Free-Flow Travel Time (spent Above Speed #n) since beginning of Run) were incorrectly calculated for the difference between average of Before-type and average of After-type runs.

6.0.0.35 (2004.12.10)

Fixed an access violation that could occur upon closing a file while the Network View is open.

6.0.0.34 (2004.11.20)

Added a button to the Toolbar to toggle the Speech Recognition Engine on/off so it isn't learning bad habits while not in active use.

Changed the way backup files are saved to clarify their purpose and to reduce the chance of unintentionally opening a backup instead of the main file. Now backup files are saved in a subfolder of where the main file is located.

Updated the online help and the User's Manual to document the above changes and to add a new section "Tips on Using the Speech Recognition Engine."

6.0.0.33 (2004.9.28)

Added some more entries to the Frequently Asked Questions section of the User's Manual and the online help:

Fixed an error in the CopyFromDgmFile utility. The utility failed when the target file had more diagrams (arteries) than the source file.

6.0.0.32 (2004.9.23)

Automatically scroll to the end of the list when you start recording a trip log so the recording trip log is immediately visible.

Make sure the tolerated GPS interruption time is at least 1 second. The software prevents you from entering anything smaller, but one user found a value of 0 entered, we have no idea how it got in there. This caused trip log recording to end immediately after it began. Rather annoying.

When printing a diagram that spans multiple pages, allow the intersection names to bleed off the edge of the inner pages. This makes it easier to tape the printed pages together to make one long diagram.

6.0.0.31 (2004.9.14)

Eliminated an alarming but harmless error message that could occur upon starting the CopyFromDgmFile utility.

Fixed an error in duplicating a diagram in the Arterial Outline View. The intersections in the new diagram had no geographic coordinates.

6.0.0.30 (2004.8.22)

Fixed access violations that would occur when exiting the program with either an intersection selected in the Network View or the GPS receiver tracking.

Fixed a unit conversion error in importing UTDF files with the speed specified sin km/hr.

6.0.0.29 (2004.8.4)

Fixed an access violation that would occur when importing UTDF files with one or more signalized intersections that had no timings in the files.

6.0.0.28 (2004.7.28)

Fixed an error that could occur in the calculation of the saturation flow from a permitted cross-traffic turn when the start-up and clearance lost times are set to 0.

Fixed a bug introduced in ver. 6.0.0.27 in importing UTDF files. When a movement was served by phases in both rings but different barriers, the phase sequence was misinterpreted.

6.0.0.27 (2004.7.21)

Improved the accuracy in importing some special cases of UTDF files. When the through phases on opposite approaches were both in the same ring, the phasing was misinterpreted.

6.0.0.26 (2004.7.13)

Fixed an error in importing UTDF files. In some cases, the offset reference point could be misinterpreted.

6.0.0.25 (2004.7.5)

Add a new option to the Network View: right-click to show the intersection "extent" -- the region a trip log must cross to count as passing through the intersection. This makes it easier to diagnose why a trip log is either skipping an intersection or passing through one twice. You can also detect when an extent is too large, usually due to a bad or misplaced coordinate measurement.

Show arrows with the band width labels on the diagram.

Reduced the chance that the band speed and band width labels will overlap on the diagram.

Fix a quirk in the analysis of trip logs for plots or TT&D reports. At an intersection with an acute turn, the software could get confused and think that you made a U-turn.

6.0.0.24 (2004.6.11)

Added an option to specify the default folder (upon startup) for diagram files. If you don't specify a folder, the last-used folder is the default.

Give more details when warning about the sum of the splits not equalling the cycle length.

Fixed a quirk in importing UTDF files, handling better the case of two disimilar intersections working from a common controller (such as a diamond interchange).

Fixed an error that could occur in exporting UTDF files. In some cases, the offset reference phases in the UTDF file could include a phantom phase.

6.0.0.23 (2004.6.1)

In analyzing trip logs for a Travel Time & Delay report, account for the (rare) case where a pair of GPS readings straddles two or more intersections.

When recording trip logs, provide an option to automatically save the file every time a user-specified number of GPS readings has been recorded.

Suppress a double warning message when the user (incorrectly) enters 0 for the speed.

6.0.0.22

Added an option, on by default, to play a sound when the recording of a trip log is interrupted. It will also play a sound when the GPS begins tracking, alerting you when you can start recording.

Fixed a quirk in the CopyFromDgmFile utility. With certain combinations of displays resolution and size of system font, the buttons at the bottom of the window were hidden from view -- scrolled off the bottom of the window.

6.0.0.21

Added a command to the Help menu for access to the new TS/PP-Draft Users Forums.

Fixed an access violation that could occur when you close a file while the Network View is open. Made the Network View scroll smoothly when zoomed in.

6.0.0.20

Ensured that the section of the status bar showing the current mouse position (over a diagram or tip log plot) is wide enough so the text is not clipped.

Fixed a quirk in the Network View: while in zoomed mode and scrolled, the popup menu would appear some distance from where you right-clicked.

6.0.0.19

Fixed a strange bug that occurred on some systems in the GPS window when you try to select an artery or intersection for synchronizing the signal clocks with the GPS satellite clocks.

6.0.0.18

Added an option, when labelling the splits on the diagram, to show each label in just one cycle, rather than in every cycle.

Improved the analysis of Trip Logs to reduce the chances that random fluctuations in GPS readings while stopped near a stop bar could be interpreted as passing through the intersection.

6.0.0.17

When importing UTDF files, set the through Band Action to Stop at intersections with no through movement

Fix a bug importing UTDF files: For a two-way artery that split into two one-way arteries, in some cases only one of the directions of travel was depicted in a diagram.

Allow the user to set the type (Before, After, or Neither) of a group trip logs in one operation. Select multiple trip logs, then right click and choose Trip Log Type to set the type for all the selected trip logs.

Fix a bug introduced with ver. 6.0.0.16 in offering to set the arterial orientation to match the forward direction set locally at an intersection.

6.0.0.16

When you change the local orientation (forward direction) of an intersection without first setting the arterial orientation, offer to set the arterial orientation to match.

Check more carefully whether the Speech Recognition Engine is installed before attempting to initialize it. It seems that if you uninstall the Speech Recognition Engine but don't do it properly, there's enough residue in the Registry to fool TS/PP-Draft into thinking it's still installed. When TS/PP-Draft attempts to initialize it, you see an alarming (but harmless) error message.

6.0.0.15

Fixed a bug in the Timings Report. In some cases, the timings for one of the left-turn phases from the side street could be reported incorrectly.

6.0.0.14

Fixed a bug that could occur when you attempt to enable voice command recognition for controlling data collection with the GPS receiver without having first installed the Speech Recognition Engine.

Fixed an error in saving a Diagram Text File (*.DgT) after having opened it -- the timing plan name was forced back to "Default" even if the original was something else.

6.0.0.13

Reduced the instances of the "splits don't add to cycle length" message after minor changes, such as changing the units of measure or dragging the splits bar.

Fixed an error that could occur importing timings at a T-intersection from UTDF files. In some cases, the turning movement from the sideeet could be assigned incorrect clearance times.

6.0.0.12

Added a new set of check boxes to the Diagram/Arterial Parameters under the Directional tab to overlay a "traditional," all-clipped band on any type of diagram. This band is one for which the Green Band Action is set to "Clip" for all interior intersections. This is the same type of band that PASSER calculates and optimizes, and it's what many traffic engineers think of when they hear The Green Band.
If you have TS/PP-Draft 6.0 installed on more than one machine and share diagram files between machines, you should upgrade all machines to ver. 6.0.0.12 before using this option. Earlier versions will reset this option to the default upon writing the diagram file.

Added an option to automatically check the web site for version updates. By default, it checks every 15 days, but you can change the frequency, or disable the checking altogether, using the Help: Check for Updates command.

Fixed a few bugs that were reported.

6.0.0.11

Added a PageUp and PageDown buttons on the tool bar for jumping to the next page on multi-page diagrams. The buttons are enabled as needed to alert the user when a diagram is zoomed to be on multiple pages.

6.0.0.10

Added a new set of radio buttons to the Network Parameters to indicate the saturation flow baseline on Platoon-Progression diagrams. Previously, saturation flow baseline has always been specified link by link as the Downstream Saturation Flow. Now you can opt use the aterial maximum downstream saturation flow (in the corresponding direction of travel) or the network-wide maximum downstream saturation flow. The new options can provide a more uniform appearance to the Platoon-Progression diagram and make it easier to identify the links that most affect the arterial flow.
If you have TS/PP-Draft 6.0 installed on more than one machine and share diagram files between machines, you should upgrade all machines to ver. 6.0.0.10 before using this option. Earlier versions will reset this option to the default upon writing the diagram file.

Added a few new items to the Diagram Text File format and specification.

Fixed a lane group labelling error on the pop-up menu of a Platoon-Progression diagram while in the Left-hand Drive Rule mode.

6.0.0.9

Fixed a bug that could suppress the display of the left-turn flow from the sideeet downsream from a T-intersection on Platoon-Progression diagrams. If the left-turn phase was entered implicitly (rather than explicitly), then flow was not displayed.

6.0.0.8

After importing geographic coordinates from a file or downloading them from a Garmin GPS receiver, offer to recalculate the distances between intersections, where applicable.

Fixed a bug in importing geographic coordinates that could cause some coordinates to get skipped.

6.0.0.7

For downloading prerecorded waypoints from Garmin GPS receivers, added support for the newest Garmin GPS receivers, which use a slightly different protocol.

Fixed an error that would occur after importing UTDF files with multiple intersections working off a shared controller.

Fixed a weird bug where you couldn't use right-click to popup the menu from the list of geographic coordinates if you had opened the Intersection Parameters from the popup menu in the Arterial Outline View.

6.0.0.6

In the Preferences: Layout dialog, you may now choose which items to include as columns in the Travel Time & Delay Report.

Added option to import prerecorded waypoints from Garmin GPS receivers and assign them to intersections as the geographic coordinates.

Added option to Optimize menu to try to minimize the time required to transition to a new timing plan.

Fixed an error, recently introduced, that could cause problems reading UTDF Volumes files.

6.0.0.5

Support diagrams through networks with turning arteries and triangular blocks by overriding the arterial Forward Direction at any intersection.

Allow exporting of trip logs as a text file with time, longitude, latitude, & speed information, for importing into GIS software or Excel.

Fixed a problem causing in some cases multiple copies of a diagram to get printed.

6.0.0.4

Fixed a quirk that caused the menu to pop up on trip log plots after you used the right mouse button to drag/scroll the plot.

Extended the hook that allows TEAPAC and other software to pass a .DgT file to TS/PP-Draft and immediately display an arterial diagram.

Fixed a quirk that, on some operating systems and in some cases, prevented TS/PP-Draft from finding its help file when you click the Help button.

6.0.0.3

Fixed an error that could occur importing exclusive pedestrian phases from UTDF files. It seems to me that the UTDF specification is a little ambiguous about how to indicate exclusive ped phases, and Synchro also has some trouble with these. In a couple of sample Synchro files a user sent to me, the exclusive pedestrian phases got lost within Synchro during the round trip (exporting then reimporting the same UTDF files).

6.0.0.2

Fixed an error importing timings from UTDF files for an intersection with both a leading and a lagging protected turn phase.

6.0.0.1

Fixed an error that could occur in interpreting the offset reference point upon importing or exporting UTDF files.
