7.0.1.44 (2008.8.21)

Fix an access violation that would eventually occur if you delete a timing plan while the GPS status window is open.

7.0.1.43 (2008.8.4)

Fix a bug that was introduced, I think, only recently and that could occur in importing geographic coordinates from a text file. Coordinates for intersections only with ID numbers 10 and above were read from the file.

7.0.1.42 (2008.7.13)

Fix a couple of possible errors in analyzing a trip log:

7.0.1.41 (2008.6.13)

When inserting a new intersection, ensure that the existing link speeds are preserved.

Fix a bug that could occur upon drawing a diagram with trip logs and more than two cycle lengths. Some of the later cycles could contain extraneous trip log lines.

Remove a pointless warning that could occur upon closing the Intersection Parameters for the right-most intersection.

Fix a floating point error that could occur upon importing a trip log from a text file.

Fix an error in identifying an AAP file.

7.0.1.40 (2008.5.2)

Fix a quirk that prevented you from disabling the first point in a trip log.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.39 (2008.2.28)

Fix a floating point error that could occur after importing UTDF files in which an intersection has an unopposed permitted turning movement.

7.0.1.36 (2007.7.22)

Fix a floating point error that can occur in viewing the Intersection Parameters or generating the TT & D report when a trip log ends very soon after crossing an intersection.

Further improve the reliability of making backups of diagram files by performing additional tests to make sure a good backup file is not overwritten with a bad data.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.35 (2007.7.1)

Improve the reliability of making backups of diagram files. If the file being saved appears to have become corrupted somehow, preserve the (older) existing backup file, don't let it get replaced with bad data.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.34 (2007.6.6)

Fix a bug that could occur when you change the arterial-wide offset reference point. If you let the software make compensating changes to the offsets, so the phases remain "frozen," and if you have multiple timing plans, then the compensating offsets adjustments applied only to the currently selected timing plan.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.33 (2007.5.23)

Fix a false-alarm problem introduced with ver. 7.0.1.32. That version changed a compiler setting so the software would automatically report "range check errors." But this makes it a bit hypersensitive, so it's reporting instructions that look potentially unsafe even if they aren't actually bugs.

Fix a problem, also introduced with ver. 7.0.1.32 and also due to that same compiler setting, that could occur when connecting to a Garmin GPS receiver in Garmin proprietary mode. In this case, I just turned off that range-check-error compiler setting altogether for the GPS code.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.32 (2007.5.9)

Prevent an error condition that could occur in exporting UTDF files.

Fix a bug in the legend of plots from trip logs. When selected as an option, the legend was showing only the times of the runs, not their dates.

Fix a bug in entering user-defined formulas for the T T & D reports. A number in the form x.yEz was accepted, but a number in the form x.yez gave an error message.

Upon checking for updates, when applicable, report additional information about any available updates.

Added to the Download page some additional user-defined columns for the T T & D reports to give Fuel Consumption and Emissions.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.31 (2007.3.16)

Fix an error that could occur in importing or exporting UTDF files in a locale where comma ',' is the decimal separator.

Fix an quirk that in some cases prevented the UTDF file names from staying in synch as you typed.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.30 (2007.3.10)

Fix an error that could occur in the merging a file as new timing plans. Trip logs wouldn't get merged from the new files.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.29 (2007.1.27)

Fix a divide by zero error that could occur when changing a one-way street into two-way.

Fix a bug in the merging a file as new timing plans when the files contain diagrams for multiple, intersecting arteries. The bug could prevent you from merging the new timing plan altogether or, worse, it could merge offsets incorrectly for some intersections.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.28 (2007.1.18)

Fix an access violation that could occur when displaying the balloon hint showing the details of the trip log point under the mouse cursor.

Add option to label the time markers (tic marks or grid lines) on the diagrams.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.27 (2006.12.27)

Fix a bug in the signal timings bar (on the Intersection Parameters' Timings tab, for example) that, in some cases, could show an incorrect offset reference point.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.26 (2006.12.19)

Fix a bug that, in some cases, still prevented you from saving the TT&D report to an .html file.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.25 (2006.12.13)

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.24 (2006.12.09)

Fix an overflow error that could occur when enabling the cycle timer while not tracking with the GPS.

When showing the cycle timer while tracking with the GPS, when possible, put the time label box on the trailing side (or the upstream side) of the GPS marker so it doesn't block the view of the downstream signal.

Add an option to open the intersection parameters by just (single) clicking the intersection name at the bottom of the diagram.

Eliminate a false alarm warning about “dangling legs” when merging (as opposed to importing) data from UTDF files.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.23 (2006.12.03)

Fix a bug that could affect the display of the diagram. When not showing splits on the diagram (so the left and right margins are very thin), in some cases only half the vertical timings strip would be visible at the boundary intersections.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.22 (2006.11.26)

When optimizing cycle length, show the calculated “progression fraction” for each candidate cycle length and let the user choose which cycle length to use, possibly overriding the optimal.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.21 (2006.11.22)

Ensure that any warning messages don't interrupt GPS tracking.

Give a confirmation report after extrapolating geographic coordinates from x-y positions.

Fixed an error in hiding/showing a background map on the Network View — after saving and reloading a .Dgm file with the map hidden, you couldn't show the map again.

Fixed a rare error where a trip log could skip an intersection for no good reason.

Fixed an error that could occur upon loading UTDF files with unusual timings.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.20 (2006.11.11)

Fixed a floating point error that could occur when using protected+permitted phasing.

Added a diagnostic message to the CopyFromDgmFile utility, reporting the number of unpaired source and target intersections and listing them by name.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.19 (2006.10.2)

Handle an apparent quirk in downloading prerecorded trip logs from the Garmin GPSmap 60Cx.

Fixed a minor quirk in the new option to show the cycle timer even when not connected to the GPS receiver.

Updated the User's Manual and the Help file to document the new cycle timer option.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.18 (2006.9.25)

Fixed an floating point error that could occur upon importing UTDF files.

Added option to show the cycle timer even when not connected to the GPS receiver. In this case, the cycle timer uses the computer's clock and will be accurate only if the clocks on the computer and the signal controllers are synchronized.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.17 (2006.9.8)

Fixed a bug in the new option of separating the bands in different cycles based on the direction of travel — if trip log trajectories are showing on the diagram, in some cases, the trip logs could also be hidden in some cycles.

Fixed a quirk in the interaction of the option to show just one band (starting in the first cycle) and the option of separating the bands in different cycles based on the direction of travel.

Added a sample diagram file showing multiple timing plans and a collection of before-and-after trip logs for making TT&D reports and speed-vs.-distance plots.

Added an item to the Frequently Asked Questions on associating trip logs with their appropriate timing plan(s).

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.16 (2006.9.1)

Fixed a bug that could occur upon importing a trip log from either a shapefile or a text file. The units for the speed were honored only if they were specified in all lower case. Now the recongition is case-insensitive.

Fixed a quirk when you maximize a diagram window to be the full size of the main window then minimize it (to an icon). The icon would get replaced slightly lower than its original position, which could cause a vertical scroll bar to appear unnecessarily.

Added an option to the user preferences to separate the bands in different cycles based on the direction of travel (so the “forward” band is shown in the lower half of the diagram, and the “reverse” bands in the upper half.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.15 (2006.8.25)

Added option of saving the “instantaneous average” of a trip log plot to either a table file (*.TSV) or a GIS shapefile.

When editing the UTDF file names with “Use Auto-Set for the File Names” checked, ensure that the changes to the other file names are also visible.

Fixed a bug that could cause some windows to display in hard-to-find positions after using a second monitor as an extension to the desktop.

Fixed an error in which the trip log plot window would attempt to highlight points selected in the trip log details table even when the plot was showing only the average, not the individual trip logs.

Fixed an error that could occur in updating the “instantaneous average” in a trip log plot after deleting a point from a trip log.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.14 (2006.8.17)

Fixed an error that could occur when trying to use the zoom feature on a time-location diagram (for which the horizontal scale has no real meaning).

Fixed a bug in calculating the default green band width for a band started for the sideeet's cross-traffic turn where there is no protected turning movement from the sideeet.

Fixed an error that could occur in drawing at the correct offset when there is an exclusive pedestrian phase or when the diagram is linked (“everything”) to an intersection in a crossing diagram, but using a different offset reference point for the cross street.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.13 (2006.8.04)

When copying a set of text tables from a trip log plot to the clipboard (for transferring to, say, Excel), copy also the average of the trip logs as a text table.

Clarified a few topics in the help file.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.12 (2006.7.03)

Fixed an error that could occur in reading files from earlier versions.

Added a background map to the Network View in some of the sample diagram files.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.11 (2006.6.14)

Fixed an error in setting the default offset of sideeet bands when using the newly-supported nonsequential phasing.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.10 (2006.6.9)

Clarified a warning that could be displayed upon importing UTDF files. In some cases, the old wording could be downright misleading.

Put hyper-links in the TT & D report details page so you can jump quickly to a selected trip log's table(s) and back.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.9 (2006.6.5)

Fixed an error that could occur in closing a file.

Added support for non-sequential phasing, serving, for example, the approaches in the order NB, EB, SB, WB. (Note that NB and SB are not consecutive, and EB and WB likewise). To specify this phasing, set the NB and EB phase sequences to Split-Lead (and the SB and WB phase sequences will then be Split-Lag). Then you may use the phase numbers to indicate the actual order in which the approaches are served.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.8 (2006.5.28)

Fixed a memory access error that could occur when closing a diagram file.

Fixed some errors that could occur in trip log plots (e.g., a speed vs. distance plot) — one error upon closing a plot, another upon disabling a trip log point, and yet another in identifying which trip log point is under the mouse.

In generating trip log plots, default to the last-used type of plot (speed vs. distance or time vs. distance).

On the diagram, prevent the overlapping of text labels for closely-spaced neighboring intersections. There's still at least one case where labels can overlap: At a group of 3 closely-spaced intersections, the labels for the outer two intersections are not tested for possible overlaps. Only the labels for the nearest neighbors are tested. Note, however, that in the case of a group of 3 intersections so closely-spaced that neighbor-skipping overlaps can occur, there might also be a problem of ambiguity determining which labels applies to which intersections, so this is a case that you already want to avoid for another reason.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.7 (2006.5.21)

Fixed an error in the TT & D report's average speed and design distance when the distance is in any units other than feet.

When generating the TT & D report, warn about large differences between the user-declared design distance and the average of the measured actual travel distances. The discrepancy affects the accuracy of the reported delay and running time.

Fixed an error that could occur while viewing a speed vs. distance plot showing only the averages, not the individual trip logs.

Suppressed some unnecessary warnings (false alarms) that could be displayed upon importing data from UTDF files.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.6 (2006.5.14)

Fixed an error that could occur in optimizing a one-way artery.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.5 (2006.5.9)

Fixed an error that could occur in joining two arterial diagrams to make one long arterial diagram. In some cases, the travel distance to a neighboring intersection could get changed.

Fixed a recently introduced error that could occur in splitting arterial diagram into two arterial diagrams when there's more than one timing plan.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.4 (2006.5.5)

Fixed an error that could occur when merging a file as new diagrams. If the file being merged has fewer timing plans than the one already loaded, parts of the file would get read incorrectly.

Fixed a recently introduced quirk: at a full-cycled signal downstream from a double-cycled signal, the band width could get displayed twice.

When trying to connect to the GPS receiver, if an invalid serial port is selected, instead of giving an error message, show a list of valid ports and let the user choose one and try again. This can be helpful in connecting to a virtual serial port through the USB interface, for which the serial port number is sometimes practically unpredictable.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.3 (2006.5.2)

Fixed a bug, recently introduced, that could cripple the merging of one file into another.

Changed the design speed to be a parameter dependent on the timing plan, so a link can have different design speeds for different timing plans.

If you're updating from a version prior to 7.0.1.2, be sure to simultaneously update all computers where TS/PP-Draft 7.0 is installed.

7.0.1.2 (2006.4.25)

Fixed a bug that could compromise the reading by older versions of files written by newer versions. This version and future versions should be more reliable in reading the files written by subsequent versions, but versions older than 7.0.1.2 can have problems. When you update to this version, be sure to simultaneously update all computers on which you have TS/PP-Draft 7.0 installed.

Fixed a problem with the Check All and Clear All buttons in the lists of trip logs used for a calculation (e.g., the distance or average speed). If a trip log has multiple runs, all runs appear in the list, but Check All and Clear All buttons operated on only the first run.

7.0.1.1 (2006.4.20)

Fixed a bug in merging, and sometimes in importing, UTDF data with multiple timing plans.

Added new cycle length options: operate intersections at 1/3, 2/3, 3/2, or triple the network-wide cycle length.

Add two more (optional) columns to the TT & D report showing the node ID and the direction of travel. Although these columns may not be referenced in user-defined formulas (since they're strings, not numeric quantities), all the same, they may be handy in analyzing the tables in the report, for example, within Excel.

When applicable, show the name of the current timing plan in the caption bar of the main window.

When saving the timings report to a file, remember the last-selected file format for future use as the default.

7.0.1.0 (2006.4.7)

Fixed a bug so you can once again copy and paste multiple selected trip logs between files.

7.0.0.10 (2006.4.5)

Fixed a bug causing the optimization procedure to sometimes ignore your choice of which intersection's offset is held stable.

Fixed a bug in the automatic version checking — for minor version updates, it would often misreport that your current version is up to date.

Make it a user-preference which warning messages to show, so, for example, you can suppress the yellow trap hazard warnings if you wish.

7.0.0.9 (2006.3.29)

Fixed a bug in the list of trip logs. If you change the trip log type, the new type was shown, by mistake, in the day-of-week column.

Fixed a quirk in the TT & D report that sometimes caused a negative number to be displayed on two lines, with the top line having just the minus sign.

Make it a user-preference option whether to show the percent difference (or percent change) in the TT & D before-and-after report.

Clarified the wording in an error message that the CopyFromDgmFile utility could display.

7.0.0.8 (2006.3.25)

Fixed bug in highlighting trip log points in the various windows. While the Trip Log Details Table, the arterial Diagram and the Network View all highlighted the selected points, the highlighted points in the Trip Log Plots could get out of synch with the other windows.

Fixed an error that could occur in splitting a trip log that has some points disabled.

Fix an error that could occur in merging data from UTDF files when all the splits are zero.

Added to the online help and the User's Manual a brief discussion of the standard deviation, shown on the TT & D reports, and how it can be useful.

7.0.0.7 (2006.3.18)

Fixed the Clear All button on the list of TT & D report columns in the user preferences.

Give the option of filling the bands with different colors for the two different directions of travel.

Add to the list of trip logs a new column for sorting and selecting: Day of Week.

In the TT & D summary report, optionally show the days of week over which the runs were collected.

Make it a user-preference option whether to show the range of run collection dates and times in the TT & D summary report.

For user-defined columns in the TT & D reports, give the option of showing “N/A” instead of percent change on the comparitive report. Modified Mark Taylor's LOS report columns to show “N/A” for the percent change.

7.0.0.6 (2006.3.16)

Fixed a minor error that, when there was essentially just one ring, sometimes caused a phase to be shown in the other ring.

Fixed an error in copying and pasting diagrams using the clipboard.

Fixed a possible error in drawing the bands when Clip/Start is used downstream from a double-cycled intersection.

When merging UTDF data into existing diagrams, allow the user to omit any of the UTDF files.

Fixed an error in the CopyFromDgmFile utility.

7.0.0.5 (2006.3.9)

Fixed an error that could occur in generating the Travel Time & Delay report. The software could sometimes get stumped when the trip logs were all in just one direction of travel.

Added a few lines to the TT&D reports' summary pages showing the range of trip log collection dates and times.

Added the option of generating the TT&D report for just a subsection of the artery.

7.0.0.4 (2006.3.2)

Fixed an error that could occur in calculating a user-defined column in the TT&D report. Really long formulas couldn't include an “if” statement near the end.

Added a option in how a user-defined column is summarized in the TT&D report. The summary can show the average of the calculation results at all trip logs (the default), or the calculation results at the averages at all trip logs. The new User's Manual and online help discuss a case in which you might prefer the latter option.

Added a new type you can assign to trip logs: Atypical. Whereas “Neither”-type trip logs may be included in the report, but they will not be included in the before-and-after comparison, “Atypical”-type trip logs are never included in the report. You may exclude any trip log from the report by simply leaving the box next to it unchecked when you generate the report, but marking a trip log as “Atypical” effectively excludes it from all future reports without further intervention (until you change the type back to “Neither”, “Before”, or “After”).

7.0.0.3 (2006.2.26)

Fix an error including user-defined formulas in the TT&D reports.

When importing UTDF file data, give option to merge into existing diagrams rather replacing all diagrams.

7.0.0.2 (2006.2.12)

Added a new column to the Travel Time & Delay report: the cumulative number of links since entering the artery. This can be useful in creating user-defined formulas for per-link averages (e.g., average number of stops per link or average delay per link).

Included the new column and the through-volumn column in the cumulative summary page of the Travel Time & Delay report.

7.0.0.1 (2006.2.5)

Added a new section to the cumulative summary in the Travel Time & Delay report: all runs in both directions of travel are combined into a single table of cumulative averages.

Extended the TSPPD Diagram Text File format to include a reference to the background map image file, if applicable.

Fixed a bug in flipping the orientation of the diagram when there is more than one timing plan.
