Hi,

I am trying to update TS/PP with the latest version. I have installed it, but not able to delete old user defined report columns. When I try to delete them, I get an error like this "Access voilation at address 0071CAC5 in module in 'TSPPDraft.exe'. Read of address 00000068.

I have tried uninstalling TS/PP Completely did not work out. Please help me if any one knows about this problem.

Thank you

Hi, Arjun.

Oh, dear. I'll look into that problem. When the error message appeared, was there an option to send the bug report? If so, would you click that button -- it will collect some detailed information about the problem that may help us resolve it.

Sorry for the trouble.

When I select one or more user-defined, then right-click and choose Delete, it seems to work as hoped. Even if those steps also work for you, I'd like to resolve the original problem, so I may solicit your help in reproducing it, if there's no option to send the bug report.

Regards.
Greg

Hello Greg,

I don't see any options to send report when that message appears. It looks like a regular windows operating system complaint that we usually get when a program trying to access protected memory. But it happens when I trying to delete these user defined report columns. I followed the procedure mentioned to delete these columns. But that did not work.

Thank you for the follow-up, Arjun.

Does it make a difference whether you select just one user-defined column or multiple user-defined columns before trying to delete?

Also, does it make any difference whether you
  • press the Del key, or
  • right-click and choose Delete, or
  • click the Delete icon in the panel on the right?

Which version of the software are you using? (8.0.0.x)?

Regards.

Hello Greg,

If I select one by one and select Delete either way, some items get deleted and some items won't. I can't really list them because once I get that error the application gets terminated, I mean I will have to kill it.

It is really doesn't matter how you delete it, the error pops up.

I am using version 8.0.0.13.

Thank you, Arjun.

Would you send your user preferences to me? Use View: Preferences: Save... to save your user preferences to a .TsppdCfg file, which you can email to me. It will let you choose which items to include in the file. Mainly I'm interested in the user-defined report columns, but it's probably best to include everything just in case.

Thank you, Arjun.

I received the preferences that you sent, and there's some good news: I'm now able to reproduce the problem. I haven't finished tracing the cause of the problem (so obviously it's not yet fixed), but just the fact that I can now reproduce it pretty much guarantees that we'll soon have a cure.

Thank you for reporting the problem and for your help in tracking it down.

Regards.
Greg

Hello Greg,

You are welcome. By the way, I have one more question for you. I think it is good to post as new question rather than changing our topic of conversation here.

I will post that question soon.

Thank you
-Arjun
