Timing Reports

Postby AnnePlatt » Tue Oct 05, 2010 7:39 pm

Hi,

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind clarifying what "average speed" in the timing report is linked to? I did a couple of runs and it's giving me an average speed of 80.5. The average instantaneous speed diagram is showing the highest average speed to be around 72km/h.

Thanks for your help!

Andrea

Hi, Andrea.

Thank you for pointing out that confusion. I should modify that report to relabel it the "Design Speed." In any case, the speed there is the user-declared value specified for that given link
  • (on time-space diagrams) in View: Intersection Parameters: Green Bands
  • (on platoon-progression diagrams) in View: Intersection Parameters: Speeds

This user-specified speed is used, among other things, to determine the slope of the bands on the time-space diagram and the Delay in the Travel Time and Delay report.

Regards.
