Prevent Left turns from running together

Postby Chris » Fri Feb 01, 2013 10:16 pm

Occasionally you will have an intersection that cant have its left turn "on" at the same time. Usually happens when opposite approaches have dual left turns. and the left turners would hit each other if both lead or lag. Or if you have a lead that extends into a lag.

Could this be coded into trutraffic so it would not suggest plans that would create this situation?

Use the drop down list near the splits and phase sequence controls in the Intersection Parameters dialog. It's probably currently set to either Unlocked or Locked, but you want to change it to Restricted.

In Restricted mode, the software considers alternate phase sequences with the restriction that the concurrency state of the opposing turns be preserved. As a result, lag-lead is considered an alternative to lead-lag, but not to lead-lead or lag-lag. Similarly, lag-lag is an alternative to lead-lead, but not to lag-lead or lead-lag.

I'll try to move this thread from the Feature Wish List board to the Program Operation board.
